Burger King is rolling out "Patty," an OpenAI-powered AI chatbot assistant integrated into employee headsets across 500+ U.S. locations to streamline operations and enhance service.
Part of the "BK Assistant" platform, it helps staff with recipes and inventory, while also monitoring drive-thru audio to encourage polite, friendly, and, efficient service.
Key Features of the AI Assistant (Patty):
Voice-Enabled Support: Employees can ask questions about recipes (e.g., bacon quantity) or cleaning procedures in real-time.
Operational Efficiency: Connects to inventory, POS systems, and kitchen equipment, automatically updating menu availability if items run out.
Friendliness Tracking: Analyzes conversations for key phrases like "please" and "thank you" to provide feedback on service quality.
Managerial Tool: Provides insights to managers to help coach teams rather than strictly auditing individuals.
The system is designed to improve speed and consistency, aiming for a nationwide rollout by the end of 2026.
